Patrick Sean Murphy
(1965 - 2001)
Patrick's
life typified the balance between academic achievement, athletic pursuits, civic
leadership, and commitment to family throughout his life.
In high school, at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, he was a National
Merit Scholar, and member of the basketball team and choral group.
At the University of Virginia, he served as a Resident Assistant for
three years, was a founding member of the Alpha Delta Phi chapter, and was a
member of the Madrigal Singers. Lastly,
when at Marsh & McLennan and in the years prior he coordinated and played
weekly basketball games with friends in New York City and in Millburn, NJ while
being a dedicated husband and father. In
celebrating Patrick's life, we celebrate his understanding that the real joy
in life lay in the journey and in living with integrity, commitment,
perseverance, community, humor, and respect for every individual.
Patrick was 36 years old on September 11, 2001. He is survived by his wife Vera, and his children Sean (6) and Maggie (4).
