Mission Statement...
The
Fund shall provide need-based high school scholarship awards to children
adversely affected by the events of 9/11/01.
The Fund will award recipients substantial financial assistance, up to
and including tuition, to attend a high school in New York, New Jersey, or
Connecticut. Additionally, the Fund will provide mentors to each Fund
recipient to guide the recipient in achieving his/her potential in high school.
Selection will be based on a variety of criteria including:
The Fund will raise monies annually through private donations and a charity basketball tournament. All monies collected will be invested by the Trustees of the Board for distribution as scholarship awards.

It has a tax exempt status which qualifies the organization as a

made to the Fund will be tax deductible. The

TIMOTHY R.
TUGADE, a senior at Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City, N.J. is the first recipient of the “9/11 High School Scholarship Fund in Memory of Patrick S. Murphy.”
The $4,500 award was presented to Mr. Tugade on February 6 at a ceremony attended by the family of Patrick S. Murphy and founders of the Fund. The needs-based award provides financial assistance, up to and including tuition, to attend a high school in the tri-state area to a student adversely affected by the events on September 11, 2001.
Mr. Tugade is a Vice-President of the National Honor Society, a leader of quarterly projects for the LaSallian Youth Corps, a second year Peer Minister for Peer Ministry, President of the Filipino-American Club and Vice-President of the French Club. In addition to being a member of the school’s swim, tennis and yearbook teams, Timothy is active with Amnesty International and is involved in community service activities. Timothy also maintains a 4.0 GPA.
